Blended Legacy
“In October 2025 I was asked by my brother in law for help in finding a special 30th anniversary gift for my sister. His instructions were ‘Something grandmother since she loves her grandbabies.’ I knew it had to be special. She is very selective in the jewelry she will wear.
LJ Artisan Designs was recommended and what a blessing. Working with Leah was remarkable and satisfying. Her giving and friendly personality coupled with her extraordinary skill in design and craftsmanship resulted in a truly amazing piece of jewelry that will be worn and enjoyed for many years to come.“

“Leah’s design is a beautiful representation of the perfectly imperfect blended family we’ve grown together over 30 years. It has quickly become one of my most treasured possessions. Thank you Leah.”
— Fran
Fran has 13 grandchildren, and at the time, one great-grandchild on the way — children from five families, woven together over three decades. Her husband, Bobby wanted each of their birthstones represented in one meaningful piece. It needed to feel special… and wearable. Fran is selective about her jewelry and does not enjoy heavy pieces, so weight and comfort were important from the beginning.
Cindy contacted me, and together we began exploring possibilities. After learning more about Fran’s personal style, I created several design directions that could thoughtfully incorporate so many stones without overwhelming the bracelet. We ultimately chose a crushed stone inlay design — a way to blend multiple birthstones into a cohesive, artful composition while keeping the bracelet light and balanced on the wrist.
Every detail was crafted by hand — including crushing and setting the stones myself. The inlay technique allowed each gemstone to contribute to the story without competing for attention, much like the family it represents.
Cindy also entrusted me with a ring that had belonged to their mother. I sent it to my refiner to be melted down, and its value was applied toward the cost of the bracelet. It was a meaningful way to add a quiet layer of sentiment while also offsetting the investment.
When Fran received the bracelet, she shared that it beautifully captured the “perfectly imperfect blended family” they have grown together over 30 years. That is the heart of custom work — creating something deeply personal, intentionally designed, and truly One of a Kind.
