When Lynn came into the studio, she brought an aquamarine from one of her mother’s rings — a stone she wanted to reimagine into something she would truly love wearing. The original setting didn't fit her style, but the stone itself was one she wanted to carry forward in a way that felt intentional and wearable.

We began by carefully removing the aquamarine from its original setting and talking through what Lynn wanted the new ring to feel like. She wanted the stone to be the focal point — bold and confident — without creating a ring that felt bulky or cumbersome for everyday wear.

I created a series of sketches exploring different prong configurations and band designs, allowing Lynn to see how each option would affect both the look and comfort of the ring. Through that collaborative process, she chose a refined double-prong setting paired with an easy-to-wear split band. The design keeps the profile elegant and balanced while allowing the aquamarine to truly shine.

The ring was crafted in gold, and Lynn also chose to refine gold from older jewelry and apply it toward the cost of her new piece — a meaningful way to carry the past forward. With gold prices where they are, this option has become a beautiful and practical choice for many clients. 

When she saw the finished ring, her response said it all:
